What is a Farmer Carry you Ask? This seemingly simple move looks deceptively easy, but with the right amount of weight, your abs will be working overtime to help stabilize your spine with every step. Farmer carries have amazing benefits. Want to improve grip strength? Want to lose fat? Want to gain muscle and get stronger? Want to get your heart rate up really quickly? Want to shred your abs up? Farmer carries! It’s safe and you don’t need fancy equipment.
Grab two heavy weights- Dumbbells, kettle bells, ground bags or whatever else you can find. Half squat- half deadlift yourself down with a flat back to them to pick them up safely. The weight will be at your sides with your palms facing towards your hips. Pin back your shoulder blades with a straight back and spine and walk as far as you can. Keeping your core as tight as possible the entire time. You’ll be more than surprised as to how sore your abs are the next day!
